The Nelson family, founders and owner-operators of Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, have been taking trips to Africa for years in order to bring the experience home to their guests. After cutting several shortform documentaries for them on both their first trip and this trip, I enjoyed the opportunity to let a single story develop over a 22 minute runtime.
The climb up Mount Kilimanjaro is their most adventurous challenge yet. Amazing mountain climbing footage and real drama captured by the team here; very proud to have been a part of it and very happy with how well this story turned out in the editing room.
A second longform story was a very different quest: traveling across the Serengeti in search of The Great Migration. Martin, Chris, Tom & team captured some amazing and incredibly unique nature and scenic footage here (leopards! lions! rhinos!) that will work perfectly as paid media on travel channels.
